DESERT MOTHERS

A bunch of blogs have already picked out the best looks from Alexander Wang and Karen Walker (Gnarlitude and Is Mental in particular), two of the top shows so far in New York, but I think Tse is actually my favorite right now. The section of all-white looks, especially with those shaggy fur pieces, was totally bitching. Somehow it kind of looks like what a particularly hot Bene Gesserit Mother would wear--like, futuristic, interplanetary and primitive at the same time. Love it.

Man, if I had this Burfitt dress I'd wear it to therapy every time. I know it's a band, but it's just too apropos. Plus it's nicely discounted... hmm.

SILVER AGE

The mini crosses and hand earrings are pretty much my everyday pairs, although I wore my little skeletons today... Since cutting my hair really short, I've wanted to wear earrings a lot more than I used to, but most of the ones I've seen are too girly and charming. I'm totally into these, though:



I'm indebted to the fantastic Is Mental for posting a link to Need Supply Co. in her blog, and Im soon to be deeply in debt to my creditors for want of all their wares, I can feel it. I love how simple but wicked these things are, though, for real.

Oh, and I have to find something to do with those studs! I took them off an old belt that was too big so I could punch some new holes in it, but I haven't decided on a good DIY yet. And the naked dude is by Czanara, if you're wondering.

Ah, it's always so weird stumbling on old or disused Livejournals/blogs... Like this guy's, for example. Such cool cartoons... plus I secretly (or not so secretly) hope my clove habit is warming cockles at the bus stop. Why not!
