MOTHER'S MILK

The weather in New England is notorious for its fickle nature--one day it's hot, sunny, and 85 degrees (yesterday, for example), and the very next it's cool, cloudy, and threatening to dip below 60 (today). Unfortunately for me, not only do I get sick every time the thermometer shifts, it also makes dressing up a little more difficult here than most other places. One good thing is, layering will save you most times (pack a cape if you decide to visit)... These leggings from Black Milk are another good thing. Totally slashed in the front, it's like air conditioning for your stems, but the solid side in the back keeps you at least 50% covered in case of thunderstorms.

LOST WISDOM

Sorry for the hiatus, I've been taking a summer class and hiking miles every day! So when I get home, I just want to have a drink and take a nap--plus my outfits have been predetermined by utility (no heels/must be insect-retardant) and weather (getting used to going outdoors sans stockings is a shock every year). The one wardrobe item I still really need for summer is a new pair of flat sandals! I wore my blue Docs on a hike the other day and my feet almost melted off, I swear. But I digress...

Okay, I was mainly jolted out of my blog inertia by some shocking news--did you guys know somebody's making a movie about Varg Vikernes?! Starring some "teen heartthrob" from Twilight?! Crazy. Not that I think burning down churches or, you know, murdering people is cool or anything, but Burzum were a pretty hard-core band.

Okay, I can't promise this will be my last Bikini Kill post, because I've gotten into the habit of listening exclusively to punk on my walk in to campus every morning (and yes, I am STILL in school, at least for the next two weeks, ugh). Seriously though, Kathleen Hanna & co. were working it like crazy back in 1994, don't kid yourself otherwise!
