MY NEIGHBOR SATAN

Just spent a snowy afternoon browsing through silk blouses and electric banjos at Young Love, the new vintage clothing and record store down the block on Baltimore Ave. The best part was the extensive leather and suede selection, coupled with choice picks from Boris to Current 93 to '60s garage sludge.

I found a pretty great grey melange cropped Sonia Rykiel dolman sweater... perfect for extra layering to keep out the cold this weekend.

FURY OF THE NORSEMEN

Of all the international fashion weeks, I think my anticipation for the Nordic cities runs most high. Copenhagen is coming up in just a couple of weeks, so I was checking out the schedule, looking up some designers' past collections, and generally psyching myself out over how awesome the Scandinavians always are. This year I'm particularly looking forward to Barbara i Gongini. For next season, I'm really feeling voluminous silhouettes, feminine but kind of rough and tumble at the same time, and from at glance at her past shows, she knows just how to deliver...

I'm planning to do a slightly more extensive post on her and other Copenhagen designers on Sang Bleu as the week draws near, so stay tuned!

SHINY DIAMONDS

Guys! Once again I've disappeared from my blog for way too long. I just moved to a new apartment, and my internets were just recently turned on here. 2010 should see a new layout... and more frequent updates!

Holy Diver's been in my head since I woke up this morning. And the video! It's nuts! I remember seeing a video incorporating parts of Trent Harris' Rubin & Ed into this song when I was young and impressionable, so now listening to it brings to mind images of Crispin Glover in platform shoes mourning for his semi-frozen cat. Oh, Ronnie...

Meanwhile, you can check me out on Sang Bleu's blog! I have an interview with the amazing Zana Bayne posted up right here, and some other stuff too.
